The JKD symbol is the Yum/Yeung (pronounced Yin /Yang in Mandarin dialect). It consists of two colors, RED and GOLD. The red part represents Yin motion - anything that is negative. The gold part represents Yang motion - anything that is positive. They are complete opposites but compliment one another. Yin represents the feminine, anything soft or passive, yang is anything that is masculine, hard. Yin/Yang, dark and light, male and female, negative and positive, hard and soft etc.…also surrounded by 10 arrows representing the flow of energy and my ranking system, in which consists of SEVEN sashes and THREE certification levels…. The colors of the Yin and Yang are gold and red and have no significant meaning compared to black and white. I just simply tried to stay away from tradition by using different colors. The red and gold arrows represent the flow of energy of Yin and Yang, a non-stopping learning process of continuing growth. The little circles inside Yin and Yang represent connectivity. No matter how tough a male can be, if he loses someone very close he will cry. In addition, no matter how soft a female is, if you hurt someone very close to her, she will become very strong. What it means is every person has a little negative and positive in them, or femininity or masculinity, and life in itself. The outer Gold and Red frames and the inside black area of the logo represents the stages of learning My The System Without A System®. The Gold Frame is the first stage, the Red frame is the second stage, and the Black area is the third stage. They also compliment each being incomplete without the other.
